I’m going to start this blog off by saying, I am really disappointed in hearing this news. I can’t stand to hear about two celebs that I actually adore beefing with each other, especially when one of the celebs paved the way for other. Mary versus Keyshia. Kim versus Nicki. Paris versus the other Kim. Now its Rosie Perez versus Jenny from the Block, Jennifer Lopez.
Actress/choreographer Rosie Perez recently discussed her issue with J. Lo, in her upcoming memoir, Handbook For an Unpredictable Life(side note: if you going to write a memoir, it better be juicy). The beef started back when Rosie Perez was a choreographer for the classic television show, In Living Color and Jennifer Lopez was just the chubby and corny Puerto Rican Flygirl(Rosie’s words, not mine).
Here’s what Rosie had to say about Jenny from the Block’s diva persona while on In Living Color and please read in your best Rosie Perez accent:
“All of the girls were coming into my office complaining how she was manipulating wardrobe, makeup, and me, all to her advantage.”
“You pick on me, me and only me, every fucking day! Every fucking day! I work my ass off, deliver and you keep pushing me aside, treating me like sh-t! I know I’m good! I’m better than any of these girls, and you know it,” Lopez roared.
Rosie also claims that J.Lo also threw her ultimate shade by talking shit behind her back and then attempting to speak to her in the club. Please continue to read in your best Rosie accent:
“I was blindsided,” writes Perez about “disparaging comments” Lopez made about her after she hit it big. “I’d thought we were cool. I called her up. She wouldn’t pick up. Frustrated, I left her an irate message on her answering machine. Instead of calling me back and hashing it out like friends do, she went on a major talk show and reiterated my lashing.”
“Jennifer came over to me(while at the club), smiling, saying hello as if nothing had happened. I should’ve let it go, played it off, too. Instead, I killed her with my biting tongue.”
Can you imagine both Rosie and Jennifer arguing and Jennifer’s Puerto Rican accent coming out?
Hopefully, these ladies will call a truce or at least battle it out on the dance floor. I love J. Lo, but I will always bet on Rosie Perez because Rosie gave us the following dances below:
