When will the fashion industry learn that racism is not “en vogue” by any means. First its blackface, now its white women using black women as chairs, which basically says that “I’m sitting my white privileged ass on you to let you know your position. ”
For those of you who are wondering who is this white woman, she is Dasha Zhukova, the editor-in-chief for Garage Magazine(never heard of either but I digress) and was shot for “editorial purposes.” Girl, go have several seats and not on half naked black women.
Some people may consider this art and may not see anything “racist’ about the photo and they are entitled to their opinion. However, you would think at some point people would think about the negative imagery that’s being displayed especially to people who have a history of being degraded.
