The Return of the Original ATLiens

One of my favorite rap groups, OutKast, have decided to celebrate their 20 years in the music industry by doing a 40 city reunion tour, starting with this spring’s Cochella festival.

The last time the public have seen Andre 3000 and Big Boi together was back in 2006 with Idlewild, the movie and soundtrack(Side note: I think that’s why they may have went solo). Since then 3000 and Big Boi have been working on movies and solo projects.

This year, the duo will celebrate the 20th anniversary of their multi-platinium debut album, Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik. The album produced the classics dirty south anthems, “Players Ball”,”Southernplayalisticadillacmuszik,” and “Hootie Hoo.” Since 1994, Big Boi and Andre 3000 created the blueprint for not only for the Atlanta hip-hop scene but also influencing artists such as B.O.B., Cee-lo Greene, and Goodie Mob.

The Grammy-Award winning rap duo will annouce their upcoming tour dates via their website.
